Visting 412nes: Heffron Drive
Just Trish Smith had a big time guest this week for 412nes. Heffron Drive has been around since the Myspace days but took a little break while Kendall Schmidt stared in Nickolodeon's Big Time Rush, the duo stuck together the whole time, Dustin Belt also toured with Big Time Rush as their guitarist. Now the two are back in action with Heffron Drive. Trish meet up with them at their first show of the tour Mr. Smalls to chat about their music, videos, love of Pittsburgh, and more. This week 412nes features Anti Flag!! Just Trish Smith met up with Justin Sane at Pittsburgh VegFest 2016 and talked about Anti-Flag's newest album "American Spring". Just Trish Smith caught up with For Dizzier Heights at James Street Gastropub and Speakeasy during The Deutschtown Music Festival (4th annual) . Just Trish Smith - Lil Batstopped by Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society's The Sangawa Project 2016. The Sangawa Project is the region's premiere pop culture event for adults, it is one of only 4 or 5 events in the nation. The event hosted a Taste of Japan, Sangawa Social, Cosplay Battle Royale, a video gaming room and a table top gaming room. The Sangawa project brought in about 500 guest and is only planning on growing each year. The Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society also puts on Tekko every year which is a much bigger scale convention and for all ages. Standard Broadcast is a original 4 piece indi-rock band, who just released a self titled LP. The band has been together for about 3 years and not only work on their own music but help bring together the Pittsburgh music scene. They do that by working with other artist and record and acoustic set as part of their "Standard Webcast-Table Sessions". Beauty Slap combines electronic music and brass instruments to create a totally unique genre of their own that the crowd goes crazy for.
